Creating a placeholder image for a template on Word.Generally, the Picture placeholder is used when the Word document has numerous images or items It might be because the Picture Placeholder option is enabled. Picture Placeholder is Enabled In some cases even after selecting the inline with text option, your image might not show up in the Word document.Now click the Show picture placeholder option Scroll down until you reach Show document content as below. Select Options to open the window shown in shot below. To add a placeholder to MS Word document, click the File tab.Now when Word documents are opened there will be a placeholder where the image would be Now place a check next to the box Show picture placeholders then OK to close out of Word Options. Next, click on Advanced and scroll down to Show document content. Now press and hold down a control key and click the reference. Now see a link appear from the Auto Inserted text to your picture. and within the "Insert Reference to" drop down list select below/above. A list of selected reference types of you document will be shown in the "For which" Caption. The Cross-reference window opens choose figure in the "Reference type" drop down list. Now go to the "Captions" group and choose "Cross-Referencing". Open your Word document and hover your mouse pointer over where you want to insert cross-Referencing.
